Audubon Christmas Bird Count - Hilton Head Area

CBC Forms:     Designated Area   Bird Checklist Form

                           Rare Bird Report    Participant List

Attention Area Captains:

Here are the Audubon Christmas Bird Count Report Forms, which are to be used as  work sheets on Count Day and on which to make your final reports on Sunday.

Contact all the people who have participated in your Designated Area in past years. A list will be given to you. Please advise us of any deletions.

Divide your target area into small groups. Assign one person as the “leader” and/or the “counter” who will record that groups sighting results plus their hours in the field and weather conditions. This information is to be turned in to you, the captain, on an official Hilton Head Area Bird Checklist Form.

Any bird seen, not on this HHA Checklist Form must be documented in detail on the Rare Bird Report to be accepted by National. Photograph, sketch or give a detailed written description Any species not seen on count day, but seen 3 days before or 3 days after may be included by contacting the CBC Chairperson with the details.

Each group leader must also provide you, the captain, with a Participant List for Counting Group. A list of each participant’s: name, address, phone #, e-mail and $5.00 donation to the National Audubon Society to support this research effort.

Consolidate and total all your groups’, check lists onto just one HHA Bird Checklist Form that covers your area i.e. Area A, B, C etc.

Please deliver all these forms/data and monies to the Chairperson on Sunday following Count Day. Please consult the “Ecobon” or our “Outings” website for dates, times and contact people.

Thank you!
